Merry Christmas

Today is going to be a very busy day for your boy. I have a truck load of family members coming in town and they are scattered throughout the city. I am pretty sure I will have to hit the gas station at some point during the day. It's a labor of love though. Happy Holidays to those who do not celebrate Christmas. If you do not celebrate any religiously affiliated holiday, Happy Friday.

Happy Independence Day

Happy Independence Day everyone. I hope you all are able to enjoy all the festivities that come along with this great holiday. I have been waging an internal battle with myself on how I should approach this blog entry. There is a part of me that recognizes the twisted irony associated with this holiday. There other side is simply happy that our great country was able to successfully secede from the British colonies. Since the battle ended in a draw, I will refrain from expounding on the aforementioned stances. "Living in America" has been my jam since Apollo Creed entered the ring in Rocky IV while it was playing. I am sure I will hear this playing at least once this weekend.

GOP Demagogues Attack Sotomayor

Republican senators continued through Tuesday and Wednesday to express reservations about Supreme Court nominee Sonia Sotomayor, as some conservative interest groups and pundits ratcheted up the pressure for the GOP to oppose the nomination. Rush Limbaugh went so far as to call Sotomayor a "reverse racist" and a "hack" while decrying moderate Republicans for their even-keeled response to President Obama's court pick.

Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich took to his Twitter account, echoing Limbaugh's racism claim. "White man racist nominee would be forced to withdraw. Latina woman racist should also withdraw," Gingrich wrote.

"Imagine a judicial nominee said 'my experience as a white man makes me better than a Latina woman,'" Gingrich posted to his Twitter account. "New racism is no better than old racism."

I'm not going to waste a lot of time writing about the Right wing idiots who are slandering Sonia Sotomayor. The baseless accusations that are being thrown her way are being disproved everyday. The Man of Steele needs to get his party in order. His "team" is full of uninformed talking heads who don't seem to have any direction. I almost choked on my dinner a few days ago when I heard Lil Newt and Rush call Sotomayor a racist. Demagoguery is not going to keep her off the Supreme Court and it's not going to make Americans turn on President Obama. These guys are "Talkin Loud and Saying Nothing."
