Surprise! Obama Was Born in Hawaii

In an attempt to quash persistent rumors that President Obama was not born in Honolulu on Aug. 4, 1961, Hawaii's health director reiterated Monday afternoon that she has personally seen Obama's birth certificate in the Health Department's archives:

"I, Dr. Chiyome Fukino, director of the Hawaii State Department of Health, have seen the original vital records maintained on file by the Hawaii State Department of Health verifying Barack Hussein Obama was born in Hawaii and is a natural-born American citizen. I have nothing further to add to this statement or my original statement issued in October 2008 over eight months ago...."

On Oct. 31, Fukino originally tried to put an end to the belief among "birthers" that Obama was born in Kenya and thus was ineligible to run for the office of president. Despite Fukino's statements, the issue has continued to resonate from Capitol Hill to the national airwaves.

I cannot believe the amount of traction this story has been getting. I wasn't going to comment on it because I was sure that the mainstream media wouldn't latch on to it. Thankfully, the iron fists at CNN told Sweet Lou that the story was a dead issue. Unfortunately, the demagogues of the extreme Right are still trying to keep this foolishness alive. The Right used to have a number of formidable politicians who, at times, had the Lefties up against the ropes. Nowadays, the extremists seem to be getting all the airtime. Even Ann Coulter thinks the Birthers are "cranks." You know your beliefs are wrong when AC sides with the liberals. If this continues, the Right is going to take a major L in the 2010 elections.

"Oh No You Didn't" by the Wojahn Brothers is a comical tune that I'm sure "Anti-Birthers" will enjoy. If In Living Color was still making new episodes, I am sure there would be a skit with Wanda saying "Oh No You Didn't" to the Birthers. Side note, the term "Birther" is very unimaginative. It's not as bad as "The Beer Summit", but it's pretty close.

Oh no you didn’t
Sucka tried to play me
But you never payed me, never
Oh no you didn’t
Pay back is a coming
You will be running forever

Yeah...if Ann Coulter disagrees with these wackos, that's saying something.

I can't believe how long this story has played out...
